Ten mi of 90 in. concrete pipes were made in 16 ft lengths; method of manufacture followed tentative specifications of AWWA for cylinder type concrete pipe not prestressed; steel reinforcing cages for bar-type pipe were formed by winding continuous steel rods on mandrel; data on excavation of 403,189 cu yd earth, 26,159 cu yd rock and 3005 ft tunnel, drilled 10 ft in diam, and lined with 1 ft of concrete; cost of tunnel driving and lining, $123.74 per ft.
