Micrographic detection of temper brittleness in low alloy steels
Report on tests on two commercial steels, widely different in their susceptibility to temper brittleness; electrolytic polishing used in preparation of surface; brittleness is not due to intergranular segregation but to carbon enrichment at grain boundaries. (see also English translation in Sheet Metal Industries v 27 n 278 June 1950 p 511-2)
