Rubber asphalt roads
New development sponsored by British Rubber Development Board is introduction of powdered rubber into cold asphalt surfacings; report on experimental work; powdered rubber made from natural latex was added to mix to extent of 1/4% by weight of normal constituents of carpet; spreading rate of bitumen emulsion is 28 sq yd per ton; test surfaces were made partly with, partly without precoated granite chips.
