Railroad relocations as federal Government projects
Reference made to Government projects being carried out in which railway interests are being extinguished and tracks removed; in most instances, they are "relocated" or reconstructed around newly built reservoirs or dams on higher ground; work is being done by Army's Corps of Engineers, Interior Department's Bureau of Reclamation and Tennessee Valley Authority; to date, agencies have relocated over 800 mi of trackage.
