Maximum curve on new line is 2°, on old 6°; there are five curves on new, compared with 27 on old; length of new line is 4.1 mi as compared with 5.7 mi for old; relocation involved 1,600,000 cu yd of excavation and borrow, 150,000 cu yd of rock excavation, 80,000 cu yd of riprap and rock fill, 3-span plate girder bridge, 2800 ft of culvert pipe, and several small concrete structures; total cost will exceed $1,720,000.
