Asphalt underseal rehabilitates canal
In repairing lining of section of Yakima Ridge canal, holes were drilled not less than 18 in. from joints or cracks, with additional holes in center of panels; cavities under lining were filled with soil cement; asphalt was injected by asphalt gun; 1100 gal applied in 30 min; cost of material and its application averaged $1. 33 per sq yd; drilling and preparation of lining is estimated at approximately 5¢ per sq yd.
