Installation of 3500 ft of 48-in. diam cast iron pipe to serve as effluent outfall for San Francisco's new sewage treatment plant; pipe is supported from pier by means of steel framework fastened to piling; monorail or dual rail trolleys were used to run pipe into position; typical work stages described and illustrated.
