First three test roads, had total length of 23 1/4 mi of 24 and 22-ft pavement; second three projects were 13 mi long; data on road construction and compacted granular subbase; concrete saw cut three-fourths of 2×1/8-in. construction joints; expansion joints spaced at 500 ft were filled with 7/8-in. surfaced redwood.
