Use of rubber in bitumen for road surfacing
Experience in Great Britain with trial sections of powdered rubber asphalt surfaces; bitumen was 60-80 penetration heated to 300 F, to which 2 1/2% by weight "Mealorub" rubber powder was added; results indicated that rubber bitumen spraying is superior to ordinary bitumen spraying, particularly with regard to adhesion of aggregate to road surface.
