Planning and design of cabin creek pumped-storage hydroelectric project
Public Service Co of Colorado is building pumped-storage hydroelectric project in Rocky Mountains near Georgetown, Colo, 35 ml west of Denver; plant and lower reservoir will be at altitude of 10,000 ft above sea level; maximum generating capacity will be 324 Mw and maximum pumping requirements for two units will be 275 Mw; maximum gross head will be 1226 ft and plant is designed for two reversible pump/turbine units; powerhouse of semi-outdoor reinforced concrete construction will be built in lower reservoir with tailrace cut in rock; plant scheduled for operation in Nov 1966.
