Specification tolerances for turbine homology
Model tests of turbines are used to determine characteristics and particularly expected efficiency of full size turbines; on some projects using propeller or Kaplan type turbines no accurate method of measuring flow through turbines is available; to assure that turbine will perform in homologuous manner with model, tolerances for symmetry need to be established; specifications are proposed for tolerance on runner and on fit of wicket gates for large propeller type turbines.
