A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Method of induced polarization is very useful in determination of non-metallic minerals and underground water flows; in case of non-metallic minerals and rocks polarization is mainly caused by membrane potential, since polyelectrolytic clay material, having capacity of ion-exchange in micells, acts as semipermeable membrane; practical examples of exploration for non-metallic mineral by induced polarization method are discussed; some kaolin deposits have been revealed.
