Frequencies of foundation systems on cohesive soil
Analysis is presented for influence of footing size, total weight, and level of excitation on value of vertical mode of resonant frequency for reinforced concrete, prototype, circular footings supported on cohesive soil and subjected to vertical sinusoidal loading of nature prevalent in industrial facilities, such as machine foundations; such effects are important considerations in designing industrial machine foundations in order to avoid resonance; footing diameters range from 5 ft 2 in. to 10 ft 4 in., total weights from 6.41 tons to 25.64 tons, static pressure levels from 2.56 psi to 10.25 psi, and applied excitation levels from 0.26 tons to 26 tons.
