Paper discusses certain problems arising in design of foundations of tall circular structures; these are choice between raft and individual column footings, choice between solid and annular rafts, location of ring beam on solid or annular raft so that maximum moment in it is minimum possible, and calculation of radial and tangential moments in solid or annular raft under combined vertical and lateral loads; pile foundations are not treated.
