Non-uniform flow in open channels -- Graphical solution
Graphical method is given for construction of surface profile for flow at constant discharge and varying depth in channel of any cross section; construction is used to determine relationship between depths at ends of channel; slope of tangent to profile at any place along channel is shown to be function of depth alone; starting from known water surface elevation at one end of channel and using function which defines slope of tangent, sequence of tangents is constructed and surface elevation at other end of channel is found.
