Corridor wall linings -- Effect on fire performance
In test fires of cribs in partially ventilated corridors, ceiling flashovers occur at same time whether or not combustible wall linings are used; within 6 min of ignition, oxygen levels in corridor were less than 10%; carbon monoxide exceeded 10% and temperature 5 ft above floor was above 300 F; any or all of these factors would make human occupancy untenable; dense smoke developed immediately after flashover, making observations impossible.
