Aggregate production with nuclear explosives
Technical investigations conducted by University of California Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, Livermore, Calif, and sponsored by U S Atomic Energy Commission as part of Project Plowshare research program to develop industrial and nonmilitary applications of nuclear explosive energy; underground experiments in hard rock showed that breaking rock with nuclear explosives for use as rough aggregate or as raw material for manufacture of processed aggregate is technically feasible.
