Hyperbolic paraboloid development at Beltsville
Three concepts of experimental design are discussed; concepts demonstrate design freedom, prefabrication, use of force equilibrium to reduce horizontal thrust and application potentials; plans discussed are pentagonal, triangular, and rectangular respectively chosen for their ease of prefabrication, reduced outward thrust on columns, and functional practicality; mathematical description and fabrication techniques of shells.
