Paper describes three-dimensional photo-elastic analysis procedure as applied to double curvature dam; results are given for dam Type 5 in program of Arch Dams Committee of Institution of Civil Engineers; surface stresses are given in nondimensional form expressed as ratio of maximum water pressure at bottom of dam; information is also given concerning internal stresses in interior of dam.
