Relationship in concrete between strength, compaction and slump
Effects of different levels of compactive effort on compressive strength of concrete of various slumps; ready-mixed concrete was used and partially compacted cylinders were made by vibrating specimens for different lengths of time; slump of concrete was varied by increasing water content only; relationship between compressive strength and slump of concrete at various levels of compactive effort shows that at low levels of compactive effort increase in water content can cause increase in strength.
