Effect of size of specimen on compressive strength of concrete
Study was conducted to find out how far size of specimen affects recorded compressive strength of concrete; granite stone from Pallavaram quarry, portland cement from M/s Dalmia Cement Co, India, and sand from Puduchatram quarry were used in tests; it is concluded from results of study that size of specimen affects compressive strength of concrete, general trend being that recorded strength of cube is lowered by about 4% for every 2-in, increase in size starting from 4-in, cube onwards.
