Design of continuous concrete slabs supported on steel beams
Boundary equations giving critical stiffness ratios for various modes of collapse are developed for continuous concrete slabs loaded uniformly and supported on steel beams; equations are modified for cases of composite action with main beams only, and with both main and edge beams; design procedure to obtain slab moment, and beam sizes if loading, load factor and lengths of sides are known, is also described and illustrated by examples.
