Expansive cements for crack-resistant concrete
Finished expansive cement, marketed as ChemComp, has property of expanding concrete slightly and thus offsetting shrinkage that causes cracks in conventional concrete; design is same as with ordinary portland cement and similar strengths are obtained with same quantities; material is currently manufactured by four established cement companies in different parts of the United States; initial use indicates success in slabs, roofs, and highway pavements.
