Water forces on accelerated cylinders
Semiempirical method has been developed at University of California for prediction of forces induced by waves in moderately deep water; for single horizontal cylinders drag coefficients during acceleration agreed with uniform motion values, but deviations occurred during deceleration; acceleration modulus did not correlate resistance coefficients near boundary layer transition.
