Cable-suspended roof for Yale hockey rink
Rink with column-free area 228 ft long and 183 ft wide at center is covered by wood plank roof suspended on cables; steel cables 15/16 in. in diam suspended between center arch and curved exterior walls, are spaced 6 ft on centers horizontally; nine additional cables, which were pretensioned after wood plank roof was put on, ride in pipe sleeves over regular roof cables; center arch is 333 ft long, 75 ft high, its cross section at center is 3×5 ft.
