Polygonal shape simplifies pipe prestressing
New Norwegian method of field prestressing of concrete pipes; pipe is given polygonal shape whereby complicated and costly circular reinforcing is avoided; longitudinal reinforcement supports wires and is placed in corners of polygon, resting on prefabricated concrete battens, which transfer prestressing force from hydraulic jacks to wire.
