Direct reading hiley-formula-based nomogram for steel bearing piles
Reference is made to similar nomogram for reinforced concrete piles indexed in Engineering Index 1958 p 937; difference is that here steel driving cap makes direct contact with head of pile and no packing material is necessary; formula and nomogram apply only to piles which obtain their support in either cohesionless soils or in very stiff or hard clays, or in rock.
