Note on Young's modulus of elasticity of some fired brick clays
In course of experiments on effect of superheated water on three fired brick clays, measurements were made of modulus of elasticity of unfired clay bars and of similar bars after firing to series of temperatures; note draws attention to relationship between linear firing shrinkage, apparent porosity and modulus of elasticity of cold bars.
