Design of slab and stringer highway bridges
Report of investigation conducted by University of Illinois Engineering Experiment Station, Public Roads Administration, and Illinois Division of Highways; I-beam bridge, composite I-beam bridge, and concrete T-beam bridge, discussed; formulas for moments controlling design of slab and stringer bridges are applicable to wide range of sizes and proportions of bridges; procedures described are applicable generally to structures with span lengths from 20 to 80 ft, and beam spacings from 5 to 8 ft.
