Electron microscope observations on tensile fracture surfaces of prestrained pure chromium
Submicroscopic structure of tensile fracture surface of pure chromium which was given various amounts of prestraining was observed mainly by electron microscope using fracture replica; mechanism of ductile and brittle fracture in pure chromium is composed of ductile regions of comparatively smooth and flat surfaces resulting from shear rupture, and brittle cleavages produced by crack nucleation.
