Ultimate hydration of water cured cement pastes
Statistical evaluation of new experimental data and reappraisal of previously published data regarding conditions governing stoppage of hydration in saturated cement pastes; empirical equations which allow prediction of end point of hydration are derived and it is concluded from these equations that complete hydration of portland cement or of mixtures of portland cement and blast furnace slag is impossible at water to cement ratios below about 6.25 by weight.
