Luxury pullman trains for L.M.R. electric services
Coaches of integral construction built at Derby Works, England for all-pullman service between London, Manchester and Liverpool are described; 29 coaches are of three types -- parlor car, parlor kitchen and parlor brake, seating 36, 18 and 30 passengers respectively; end collision-pillars were repositioned and redesigned to give wider gangway opening and removable roof panel fitted to provide access to air conditioning unit; bodyside framing was adjusted to accommodate 15-ft wide double-glazed light unit and top light rail section redesigned to facilitate fitting of venetian blinds.
