Analysis of dynamic response of multi-story buildings under earthquake forces, for design purposes
Three n natural frequencies of vibration of n-story building are determined for general case of three freedoms of movement of each slab; time functions of translatory and rotational movement of slabs are determined for general tremor of ground; for usual case in practice, design procedure is outlined for obtaining limiting deformations of vertical elements (columns and shear walls) of buildings vibrating under earth tremor effects.
