Analysis is made of periods of new steel frame and reinforced concrete buildings to investigate validity of formulas in current Structural Engineers Assn of California Code as applied to modern buildings; comparison is made for number of buildings for which period measurements before and after strong earthquakes were available in order to investigate possibility of significant changes in period.
