Load distribution in single span bridges with two torsionally rigid main girders
It is assumed that cross ties are close one to another and can be treated as one continuous cross tie, and that both girder ends are restrained from torsion by one common end tie; formulas are derived for determining load distribution for cases of symmetric and antimetric loads; effects of end tie deformation, local stresses due to transverse roadway ribs, and settlement of understructure are taken into consideration.
