Temperature variations endanger prestressed concrete bridges
Investigation of possible causes of 17 m long and 5 to 6 mm wide horizontal crack in floor of two-span prestressed concrete beam bridge with box-type cross section and span widths of 32.2 and 23.0 m; residual stresses caused by varied temperatures in bridge deck were studied, and tensile stresses and strength of concrete were evaluated.
