Prestressed timber beams
Recent creep tests on type of preflexed timber beams which were described previously (see Engineering Index 1964 p 151) are discussed; further design of beam which has curved prestressed wires to counteract shear creep in timber is considered and results are given of bending and creep tests on these beams which have spans up to 24 ft.
