Statics of torsion buckling and mixed torsion
Study deals with pattern of buckling stresses along bar's longitudinal axis, assuming that St. Venant's torsional moment is negligibly small; for prismatic continuous girder, formulas are given enabling calculation of camber on girder's ends, moments, influence planes, and normal forces; combined effects of both components of St. Venant's torsion and buckling torsion are examined; solutions are obtained for open and closed profile girders and analogous bridge structures.
