Linate air terminal complex covers area of 6500 sq m and has total cubic content of 68,000 cu m; all above ground structures are throughout arc-welded steelwork anchored to foundation by plates cast in concrete and fitted with bolts; framework has no wind-bracing, stability being achieved by rigid beam fixing to columns by welded connections and by built-in bases to columns; suspended floors and roof decks are reinforced hollow tile construction laid on beams; total steel amount for five buildings and 25 m high control tower was 2022 tons.
