Offices, repair shops and hangars occupy total area of 52,000 sq m; notable feature is 60-m wide 140-m long cantilever hangar roof consisting of slightly concave prestressed concrete beams supported by system of cables anchored to 15-m high portal frames erected on top of hangar; hangar construction is founded on 1350 Franki piles 50 cm in diam driven to 15 m depth into sand bank.
