Fire resistance of concrete columns
Fire tests were made of 62 columns under working load, and 16 comparable columns were tested to failure in compression without fire test; thickness of concrete or other material considered as protection was 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 inches; concrete aggregates of a wide range in mineral composition were introduced. Discusses results obtained. See also Fire and Water Eng., vol. 77, no. 21, May 27, 1925, pp. 1097-1098 and 1112 partly on supp. plates.
