Results obtained in the study of cast iron by dilatometric methods
Complex transformations occurring in cast iron with changes in temperature may be followed by means of differential dilatometer, separation of graphite being marked by considerable expansion, and anomalous expansion due to cementite affording means of ascertaining approximately content of combined carbon at beginning and end of given heat treatment.
