Dam repairs with plastic materials
Swedish State Power Board (Kungl. Vattenfallstyelsen) is using epoxy resins alone, or in combination with rubber based materials, to reinforce and repair damaged concrete dams; experiments began with use of Duro plastics to reinforce and calk Suorva Dam on River Lule in Arctic Sweden; methods tried include spraying with epoxy and covering with glass fiber, combining sand and plastics, and application of 2 different chemical forms of neoprene.
