Elastic and plastic compression of concrete under repetitive and sustained static loading
Influence of oscillatory and sustained static loading on stress-strain curve as well as creep and strength properties of concrete were investigated; curve analysis showed increasing strain stiffness under high-, and decreasing under low-stress conditions; creep deformation rate was equal under oscillatory and static loading; oscillation amplitude and frequency had no influence on creep rate; oscillatory load increased fracture stress by 10%; it also increased fatigue life, particularly in cement-rich concretes.
