Compression tests with various constant strain rates were made on concrete; from stress-strain curves obtained, stress distribution curve at any given time was determined over entire cross section of compression zone; integration of stresses and their moments gave magnitude and position of resulting flexural bending force; close agreement was obtained between calculated and observed values and positions of flexural compressive force.
