Special techniques of firedamp drainage
Trials have demonstrated new methods of draining firedamp in quantity from seam being worked or from strata normally thought to be unrelaxed; work, covering 5 mines in Great Britain, includes firedamp drainage from holes bored in coal seam being worked, firedamp drainage from rock heading, and firedamp drainage from unrelaxed strata; no expensive new equipment is required in order to install modified systems.
