Nationwide study to evaluate present status of existing environmental data and environmental data sources, and to determine feasibility of various methods of organizing and summarizing such information for Office of Civil Defense (OCD) use; 3-part information system is presented which consists of small in-house information center, board of expert advisers, and annotated directory of major environmental data sources; program for preparing engineering-geologic map folios, fundamental to fallout shelter construction, for 3 major United States cities is recommended, and example of map folio included.
