Using micaceous sands for cement mortars
Investigations carried out on cement mortars using micaceous sands from Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, indicate that addition of lime putty improves their strength and workability; for each mortar mix there is optimum quantity of lime putty which gives best compressive strength; maximum compressive strength was obtained when ratio of water to quantity of both cement and lime in mix is minimum.
