I.B.M. Building, Sydney
Tests conducted on 1/8 in.-to-1 ft scale model of new building in Australia to determine aerodynamic forces acting on sun-hoods due to various wind attitudes to building; model was inserted in working section of 7×5 ft wind tunnel, attached through ceiling to mechanism of overhead balance; lift and drag forces on tower, and overturning moments about base under influence of tunnel airstream were determined; flow behavior, recirculation pattern, pressure plotting, negative and peak pressures, and aerodynamic forces, are described.
