Sault ste. Marie international bridge -- Design and construction
Design and construction of bridge with 124-ft vertical clearance to connect Ontario and Michigan; main spans over American ship canals consist of 4 continuous arch-truss spans -- 200, 430, 430 and 200 ft -- and those over Canadian canal of 3 similar spans -- 200, 430 and 200 ft; pier foundations in water were carried into sandstone rock and constructed by tremie seal in open steel sheet-pile cofferdams; main-span erection was done by cantilevering methods.
